Here, you'll learn a little bit about everyone in our family.  And you'll get an update on what we're all up to.

 Jeff

I'm 28, born and grew up in northern IN.  When I was young, I sang with the local county children's choir.  Then in 1991/92, I joined up with the National Children's Honor Choir, and sang at Carnegie Hall, but when my voice changed about a year later, that was the end of that.  Then I became active in middle/high school fine arts programs.  After high school, I joined the US Navy in October of 1999.  I attended boot camp in Chicago, and then was sent to Charleston for schooling, during which time, I met Sarah on February 24, 2001.  After SC, I was stationed in Bremerton, WA for the remainder of my time in the Navy, as an electrician assigned to submarines.  I got out of the Navy in January 2008, and began a new job as a crane technician for Konecranes in Kent, WA.  In the little time that I'm home, my number one thing to do is spend time with my family. But in my rare spare time, I enjoy tearing up my house in home projects, riding my '02 Triumph BC, and watching the growth of my mini reef.

Sarah

I'm 26, born in NC, and grew up in Charleston, SC.  I had some rough times growing up while being blind, and having my mother pass away at only 6, but having to overcome those barriers, has helped make me the person who I am today.  After high school, I started attending Charleston Southern University, during which time I received my first guide dog, Janine, (who ironically has the same birthday as the day my mom died, September 24th), from The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ, and met my wonderful husband, Jeff.  Currently, my main focus is being the best wife and mother that I can be to my family.  But I also enjoy being an active member in the Peninsula Council of the Blind, being an active parent in the kid's preschool, taking Jazzercise classes, building websites, and digi-scrapping.  Once the kids are bigger and in school, I plan on going back to school and get a degree in massage therapy with spa and aromatherapy specialty.  My dream is to one day own my own spa and coffee shop someday.

Janine
I'm going on 10 years old.  Back in April 2008, I was diagnosed with having a heart murmer.  I had an ultrasound done, and the doc says that it's nothing that shouldn't get worse, but there's still no guarentee that it won't.  So this, plus with the fact that I've started showing more signs of not wanting to work anymore, such as getting spooked by cars coming up behind me, and showing some hesitation during street crossings, Sarah's making sure that I'm happy, and has officially retired me.  I'm enjoying my retired life as one of the family pets now.  I'm spending a lot of time playing in the backyard with the family, and they've even got me a playmate to keep me company when everyone is gone.  Read more about Brielle underneath me. :-)

Brielle

My name is Brielle.  I'm a female black labrador retriever that my family adopted from the Kitsap Humane Society in March '09.  I'm approximately 4 years old.  I was brought to the shelter as a stray, but I was definitely a family's dog before I became lost.  When the family came to spend time with me at the shelter, they fell in love with me, as I did them.  I absolutely love living with this family!  I enjoy going on our walks, playing ball in the backyard, playing with Janine, and am very gentle with all the kids and haven't had any house accidents.  I'm so happy that they adopted me!

I'm approaching 7 years old.  I"m still a tubby kitty, weighing in at about 20 lbs.  No diet has worked.  Sarah and Jeff have tried EVERYTHING to get me to loose some weight!  I'm lovey when I want to be, but when I want to be left alone, I mean it!  I can be such a grump!  I enjoy laying on the bed sleeping all day (because I m too fat to do much of anything else).

Buddy

My given name is Noah, but I answer to Buddy.  So that's the name that I'm called.  I'm a 5 year old kitty, who thinks that I should have been born a dog.  I greet the family at the door when they come home, and sleep on either Sarah's or Jeff's chest at night, and won't let Jeff get up when his alarm goes off in the morning.  I also love to have my belly scratched.  Now is that typical of a dog, or what?  I was given to Sarah and Jeff when my previous owner had to move to Guam, and didn't want to put me through the 120 day animal quarenteen.  I really like it here.  I love it that I have another cat to play with, and we get along great.  The ferret on the other hand, I could do without.  Not too crazy about him. He annoys me.  I don't like it that he's always trying to chase MY tail and get in my personal space!  Yeah yeah, I know the saying that cats are moody, well I claim that one!  But I am in a good mood when Kyle and Natalie are around.  They are always wanting to pet me, hold me, give me hugs, and give me kisses.  My kind of people!

Milo

I'm a 1-year-old orange tabby kitty whose always into mischief!  I came to live with Sarah and Jeff when I was two months old...just two days before Kaitlyn was born.  Jeff didn't want another kitty, but he knew how much Sarah wanted an orange kitty.  And so he said yes to me coming home with them from the pet store.  I've been a trouble maker since the day I stepped foot into their house!  I love to climb the window screens and curtains so that I can sit up on top of the window ledges.  I love to tryi and drink milk out of glasses on the table, and I love to see how wall I can balance by walking along the rail on the deck and on Kyle's bunk bed!  But with all the mischief, I'm the most loveble kitty ever!  I'm everyone's favorite!  I love to snuggle and lay with you while you sleep.  :-)

Lily and George

We are two Red Eared Sliders who came to live with the family in June 2008.  Sarah LOVES turtles, and she's wanted a turtle for as long as Jeff can remember. Well, Jeff finally gave in, and gave Sarah her turtles...us!  :-)  We're semi aquatic turtles who love to swim and bask in the "sun" (heat lamp) on our floating log and docks in our tank.  We love to eat carrots, turkey and lettis.  We're very relaxing to watch.  The whole family loves us!

The Family:
We are now a civilian family.  We got out of the Navy on January 25, 2008.  We love our new chapter in our lives of being able to actually plan our lives and not having to worry about anyone else's schedules.  In fact, we'are getting ready to take our very first official family vacation in just a few weeks to Disneyland down in California.  We're all so excited!  We can't wait!  All 3 kids are growing like crazy, and Jeff and I are continuing to have fun picking up new hobbies to fill our "spare" time.
